Changes in RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria 2018 – Official Notice
Recently,Ministry of Railways has announced one of the world’s largest recruitment processes for 89,409 posts in Group C and Level I (Erstwhile Group D) and Level II Categories. The Indian Railways has made changes in the Eligibility Criteria, Age limit & Signature so that more aspiring candidates from all sections of society get opportunity to serve the nation by working for Indian Railways. The exam will be held in the month of April/May 2018.
Let us have a look at the amendments made by Railway Ministry for the upcoming RRB Recruitment Examination 2018.
The eligibility criteria for RRB Group D 2018 Examination is set by Railway Recruitment Board. Each and every candidate who will be applying for RRB Group D Examination has to fulfill this criteria. Failure to do so will deem the candidate ineligible for RRB Group D Exam.
RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria 2018 consists a set of requirements and clauses in terms of Age and educational qualification. This is to inform all the candidates appearing forRRB Group D Exam, some changes have been made by the Railway Recruitment Board regarding the age limit, Education Qualification & Signature. Minimum educational qualifications for all Level I posts were class 10th or ITI or equivalent till July, 2017. In July, 2017 for many of these Level I posts, criteria was changed to class 10th and ITI or equivalent. This was not known the people in advance and was unfair to candidates who had been preparing over the past years for this recruitment. Candidates would have got a chance to acquire the required certifications and qualifications had they been given adequate advance notice. Therefore, it has now been decided that for this exam, criteria will be class 10th or ITI or equivalent, again.
For the ongoing recruitment of Group C Level I & II posts, Ministry of Railways have decided to extend the relaxation in upper age limit as under:
|CEN 01/2018 – Asst. Loco Pilot (ALP) & Technician (Group C Level II)

Candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR) and OBC categories were required to pay Rs. 500/- as application fee for Railway Group D Exam 2018. While candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-Serviceman/ PWDs/ Female/ Transgender/ Minorities/ Economically backward class are required to pay Rs. 250/- as application fee. It has now been decided that Candidates who have paid Rs 250 will be refunded the entire amount and those who have paid Rs 500 will be refunded Rs 400.
Candidates can now make signature in any language instead of only in Hindi or English.
NOTE: Question papers to candidates will be provided in 15 languages – Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. This will ensure opportunities for candidates across India.
